You draw a display font, license it, support it. Clients pay a posted rate, ticket, dues, or commission.
You get paid to draw a display font, license it, support it. One good family beats a hundred thin files. A normal week is making or serving, photographing the work honestly, and a booking or preorder habit. Write the offer in one sentence a stranger would understand. Price for your hours.
Font editors have free or trial tiers. Gumroad / foundry marketplaces list at $0. First license often 3–12 months of drawing and kerning (Gumroad).
Each required material has a matching shop listing — photo, price, and a way to add it to the cart.
Laptop
Used laptop
A reliable used laptop for writing, editing, and running a one-person shop. Ships checked and wiped, with a charger — not a gaming tower and not a Chromebook that cannot run your tools.
Font editor
Font editor license
A license for a font editor (Glyphs / FontForge path) and a two-glyph practice file. This is software, not a type foundry membership.

Public examples matched to this path by what they actually publish — not endorsements, and not a claim they run this exact shop. Handles change. Verify before you write to anyone.
