This is skilled admin. You handle inbox, calendar, tools, and follow-through for operators juggling 15 SaaS renewals. You get paid a monthly retainer when a weekly report and a response time reduce their anxiety — not when you 'help with tasks'. A normal week is a standing block of hours, a written update, and a short list of decisions you need from them. Start part-time. Two well-priced retainers can replace a wage. Confidentiality and written processes are the brand.
Upwork, direct email, and a portfolio site on a computer you own: $0. First paid gig is often 1–4 weeks with samples; 2–8 weeks from a cold start (Upwork Freelance Forward / SCORE).
